Immersion and invariance adaptive control of linear multivariable systems

چکیده
We show in this paper that it is possible to globally adaptively stabilize linear multivariable systems with reduced prior knowledge of the high-frequency gain. In particular, we relax the restrictive (nongeneric) symmetry condition usually required to solve this problem. Instrumental for the establishment of our result is the use of the new immersion and invariance approach to adaptive control recently proposed in the literature. The controllers obtained with this technique are not certainty equivalent—though smooth and without projections or overparameterizations—and the resulting Lyapunov functions contain cross-terms between the plant states and the parameter errors. c © 2003 Elsevier Science B.V. Adaptive Control of Aeroelastic Systems: an Immersion and Invariance Approach
The active suppression of aeroelastic limit cycle flutter oscillations is the main goal of this work. Because of the significant dependence of such outcomes upon flight conditions, an adaptive controller is selected. The related task is accomplished through a full state Immersion and Invariance feedback, embodying linear filters to simplify its design. A practical implementation is then obtaine...
متن کاملAdaptive Control of Nonlinear Visual Servoing Systems via Image-based Linearization
In this work, the adaptive control of nonlinear visual servoing systems is considered. The strategy is developed for eye-to-hand systems to perform positioning and tracking tasks on the 3D environment, when both camera calibration and robot parameters are uncertain. An image-based linearization method is introduced to deal with the nonlinear control problem generated by a time-varying depth. Th...
متن کاملImmersion and invariance: a new tool for stabilization and adaptive control of nonlinear systems
A new method to design asymptotically stabilizing and adaptive control laws for nonlinear systems is presented. The method relies upon the notions of system immersion and manifold invariance and, in principle, does not require the knowledge of a (control) Lyapunov function. The construction of the stabilizing control laws resembles the procedure used in nonlinear regulator theory to derive the ...

متن کاملOn the Necessity of “ Block Invariance ” for the Convergence of Adaptive Pole - Placement Algorithm with Persistently Exciting Input
A parameter adaptive control stmcture for linear multivariable systems,'' IEEE Trans. Abstract-Global convergence of a number of discrete-time adaptive control algorithms with persistently exciting inputs has been established in the literature. A key element of the convergence proof is the " block-invariance " feature of the algorithm. Namely, while the parameters are estimated at every sample,...
